Challenge

  • As a team, we have learned to follow a problem-solving approach through which no challenge can hinder our creativity.
  • One of the challenges that we faced during this project was that IFA asked for a computerized Voice Overusing WAVENET open resource so we decided to develop our own machine-learning-based program to replace Voice Over actors.
  • Another major challenge was that IFA launched a rebranding campaign and accordingly we worked on replacing the old logo with the new one in both the old content and the current as well which required a significant amount of time and effort, especially since we have other projects at hand.
  • We are always able to manage new updates and feedback from our partner’s end within a specified time frame.

Solution

IFA main request was that the digitized content is produced in a structured, formal, and straightforward tradition, so the team works meticulously when it comes to the colors, characters, sounds, and voice-over since the content is strictly educational.

Philosophy

UMAMI team worked hand in hand with more than 10 people from the IFA in preparing the content to be used in the videos. And of course the process of preparing the content was under the supervision of Dr. Assem.

The videos go through multiple phases of quality checking to make sure that the material matches the original content. Some videos require up to 6 times of modifying the content to ensure that our partner is delighted with the final outcome. For instance, at UMAMI, we 125 minutes of digitized study material each month and approximately 300 minutes of modifications.

Our visuals have drastically changed and improved throughout the project, they started as black and white videos, then colors combined with more advanced motions were integrated in the content which was appealing for the IFA.

We are also responsible for the Marketing Campaign of this project, including copywriting and videography.

In this project, we have included simulation, storytelling and real examples from the workforce that the learner could face.

IFA was willing to take their in-person training outside Lebanon and MENA through providing a digitized version of their study material so that candidates from all around the world can access it.

Result

Throughout the 3 years of working on this long-term project, we have proudly managed to produce 4,000 minutes, including 125 minutes each month, 5 versions of each video and teaser and promotion videos for every course released that explain an overview of the content.

Conclusion

As UMAMI team, we were quite keen on collaborating with IFA on this long-term project because the CFA program in today’s world is the symbol of professional excellence within the realm of global investment, and it became the standard for measuring competence and integrity.
