Inside UMAMI’s Digital Orientation Project for Cleopatra Hospitals Group

Imagine being able to onboard hundreds of new employees across multiple branches, at any time, without scheduling conflicts, room bookings, or repeating the same information over and over again.

For a major organization like Cleopatra Hospitals Group, with thousands of employees across different locations, there was a real need for a unified, interactive, and informative onboarding experience.

One that’s accessible to everyone, enhances belonging, and requires zero operational hassle.

That’s where UMAMI came in.

We partnered with Cleopatra Hospitals Group to design their first digital orientation experience, powered by animation and interactive storytelling, turning the first day of work into an engaging learning journey full of clarity, excitement, and connection.


The Challenge

Cleopatra Hospitals Group employs many individuals in various locations and with diverse backgrounds.

The goal is to deliver a unified, engaging, and information-rich experience without overwhelming or boring the learner.

  • The total duration allowed: no more than 1 hour.
  • The key objective: make the new employee feel part of the organization, understand its values, meet their peers, and explore its services and policies from day one.

UMAMI’s Secret Recipe

UMAMI created a non-traditional orientation experience.

What if the employee could follow a fictional character through her first day at work, watching animated videos that simulate real-life scenarios and department walkthroughs?

We designed a carefully written script that follows the main character across key departments, featuring interactive scenes and engaging moments, like:

The first-day employees were brought to orientation through detailed animations, from meeting the HR representative to touring the hospital’s legacy and values.

Want to explain your organization’s structure or expansion journey? UMAMI crafted a simplified video showing Cleopatra’s acquisition timeline and a dynamic map of all branch locations.

Now we move to one of the most sensitive onboarding topics, corporate policies and handling violations, that must delivered in a soft and relatable tone,

Thanks to animated videos and the effective storyboard, we made these concepts easy to understand and digest, without sounding intimidating.

Each video in the series was more than an explanation, it was a realistic simulation, supported by high-quality animation, voiceover narration, dynamic sound effects, and music.

  • New hires felt the content spoke directly to their experience.
  • Better understanding of Cleopatra’s values and structure from the very first hour.
