In 2022, EG Bank officially became UMAMI’s E-Learning partner, entrusting us with creating customized digital learning solutions that support their strategic goals.
The Challenge
EGBANK aimed to provide its employees, from new hires to management, with an in-depth understanding of critical banking operations, governance, and risk management.
The challenge was to transform complex financial, regulatory, and operational knowledge into engaging, accessible digital learning experiences that would:
- Cover a wide range of banking topics.
- Cater to employees across different departments.
- Deliver localized content in Arabic (Egyptian dialect).
- Ensure high engagement without sacrificing technical accuracy.
UMAMI Secret Recipe
UMAMI partnered with EGBANK to create a full e-learning ecosystem, covering not only the Treasury Dealing Room but multiple crucial areas of banking knowledge. Our approach included:
1- Animated Videos
For complex concepts like “Core Values” and “Introduction to Banking”, we used short-form animated videos to simplify ideas and humanize the learning experience.
These animations made abstract topics more tangible, especially for new hires unfamiliar with banking operations.

2- Branched Scenarios
In courses like “Information Security”, we implemented branched scenarios where employees were placed in real-world digital dilemmas, such as receiving a suspicious email.
Each decision led to different consequences, reinforcing both technical understanding and critical thinking.
The branched scenario involved how to avoid hacking as a bank employee. The scenario displays the situation on a PC screen, then the employee must choose to proceed with one of the scenarios to see the consequences of their choice.
3- Gamification & Interactive Experiences
Courses like “Operational Risks”were enhanced with gamified learning, including scoreboards, challenges, and role-play games to test learners’ decisions in simulated environments.

We also added a fun twist with gamification and interactive scenarios in courses like Information Security, Loans & Credits, and Introduction to Economics.
And for Code of Conduct, we combined videos with real-life scenarios to help learners connect with the content in a meaningful way.
4- Interactive Screens
For topics such as Introduction to banking, we created guided, clickable environments where learners could explore policies, tools, and procedures at their own pace.
